# Privacy policy templates for analytics

The templates assume the default setup. Change them if yours differs:

- **Provider:** Privatus Analytics is operated by Two Phase LLC, 680 South
  Cache Street, Unit 100, Jackson, WY 83001, USA.
- **Legal basis:** the templates name legitimate interests. Use the basis
  you and your counsel decided on.
- **Opt-out:** they point to an opt-out button. Add the
  [opt-out snippet](/docs/privacy/opt-out) or remove that sentence.
- **Global Privacy Control:** honored by default. Remove the last sentence
  if you turned it off for your site.

**Website analytics (Privatus Analytics)**

We use Privatus Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service provided by
[Privatus Analytics, legal entity and address], to understand how our
website is used. Privatus Analytics does not use cookies or similar
technologies, does not store any information on your device, and does not
track you across websites or devices.

When you visit our website, your IP address and browser information are
processed briefly, in memory only, to filter out bots and to recognize page
views that belong to the same visit on the same day. For this, a
pseudonymous key is created from your IP address and browser information
using a random value that changes every day and then expires. Your IP
address is never stored, and the key is kept only temporarily, for at most
one day. Your country is taken from a country code that the service's
network provider (Cloudflare) adds to the request. No more precise location
is collected. This processing takes place in the United States, also for
visitors from the EU, the UK and Switzerland. The resulting data (for
example the pages visited, the referring website, the country, the browser
and device type) is stored in the United States and contains neither your
IP address nor any permanent identifier.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in analyzing and improving our
website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data is transferred to the United States on
the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can opt out of
analytics in your browser [below / at link]. We honor the Global Privacy
Control signal.

If you send custom events or properties, describe them too, for example:
