# Add Privatus Analytics to Jekyll

> Add cookieless analytics to a Jekyll site in your head include, load it only in production builds and keep the site id in _config.yml, on GitHub Pages too.

Add this to `_includes/head.html` (or your default layout's `<head>`):

```liquid
{% if jekyll.environment == "production" %}
  <script defer src="https://privatusanalytics.com/js/pa.js" data-site="{{ site.privatus_site }}"></script>
{% endif %}
```

And the site id to `_config.yml`:

```yaml
privatus_site: pa_YOURSITEID
```

Build with `JEKYLL_ENV=production bundle exec jekyll build`. GitHub Pages
sets the production environment for you.

With the Minima theme, override `_includes/custom-head.html` instead of
copying the whole head include.
