Testimonials is part of every site in Privatus Analytics. Open a site and choose Testimonials in the sidebar. Everything about testimonials is behind that one item, in tabs: Inbox, Forms, Requests, Widgets, Walls, Images, Collections, People, Import, Analytics and Settings.

Get started with Testimonials

Take a site from no testimonials to a widget on your own page in five steps: create a form, share it, approve what arrives, make a widget and install it.

Testimonials overview

How Testimonials is laid out inside a site: what each tab is for, the setup checklist on a new site and what is stored about the people who write to you.

Forms

Build a form that collects testimonials: its steps, questions, skip logic, consent wording, look, settings and rewards, and what each plan includes.

Share and embed a form

The four ways to put a testimonial form in front of customers: a link, a QR code, an inline embed on your page and a popup embed opened by a button.

Requests

Ask customers for a testimonial by email, sent from your own address through your own email provider, with a personal link and follow-ups. Part of Business.

Email sending

Connect Amazon SES, Postmark, SendGrid, Mailgun or Resend so testimonial request emails are sent from your own address. Part of Business.

Purchase connections

Connect Stripe or Paddle with a read-only key, so buyers of the products you choose are asked for a testimonial some days after they pay. Part of Business.

Private feedback

Send a rating of 1 to 3 on a testimonial form to your team as private feedback instead of making it a testimonial, and read what came in. Part of Business.

Add a testimonial by hand

Add praise that arrived by email, chat or in person. Every field of the form, the duplicate warning and what happens at the monthly limit.

Video, audio and images

How video, audio and image files are uploaded, processed and stored, the length each plan allows, and who can open a file before a testimonial is approved.

The Inbox

Every testimonial of a site in one list: the status row, layouts, columns and filter rail, and a testimonial's own page with approving, editing and history.

Triage

Triage shows one pending testimonial at a time with a key for every decision. How the queue is built, every button and key, and the tally at the end.

Search and filters

How the Inbox search box reads words and operators such as rating:5 has:video tag:pricing, how they become filters in the rail, and how to sort.

Saved views

A saved view keeps the Inbox's filters, search, sort, layout and columns under a name. Personal or shared, and pinned above the Inbox with its count.

Bulk actions and undo

Approve, tag, collect, pin or trash many testimonials at once, over a selection or everything a filter matches, export them, and undo it for 7 days.

Tags and rules

Tags are labels on testimonials. On Business, rules add a tag the moment a matching testimonial arrives, and one click runs them over what you have.

Collections

A collection is a named set of testimonials that feeds widgets and walls. Order one by hand on any plan, or let rules keep it current on Business.

People and companies

Everyone who has said something, what each said and what was asked of them. Merge two records of one person, ask again, and correct company names.

Custom properties

Add your own fields to testimonials, such as product, plan or persona, then filter by them, show them as columns and fill them from a form's link.

Mentions

Mentions lists the words and phrases that recur across a site's testimonials, with counts and ratings. Tag them in one move or make a rule from a term.

Duplicates

The Duplicates page lists testimonials that are probably the same one twice, shows the copies side by side and merges them, with an undo.

Trash and permanent delete

How a testimonial moves to the trash, how long it stays, how to restore it exactly as it was, and what deleting it permanently removes.

Widgets

Build a widget: choose a layout, what feeds it and how it looks, then put it on your site and see where it is live. Every option of the builder.

Install a widget on your site

The four ways to embed a widget, with numbered steps for WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Framer, Carrd and plain HTML.

Styling reference

Every custom property and class name you can style on a widget or a Wall of Love, how to set them, and how custom CSS is checked before it is used.

Wall of Love

Build a Wall of Love, a hosted page of your testimonials with a header and a button: its address, layout, search settings, and how to link or embed it.

Public pages and removal requests

Give a testimonial a public page of its own, see what the page shows, and decide the requests of people who ask for their testimonial to come down.

Images

Make a picture from an approved testimonial for a post or a slide: every template, size and option, and what happens when the testimonial changes.

The Import tab

Bring in reviews from a review platform, a page, a spreadsheet or another tool, look at each before it is kept, and see what counts toward the month.

Import sources

Add a review page as a source, see what was found, keep what you want and read the run history. With the list of platforms we read.

Automatic sync of import sources

A source set to sync is read again every month on Pro and every week on Business. New reviews arrive as Pending or Approved, with an alert when some are found.

Import a spreadsheet

Upload a CSV, TSV or XLSX file of testimonials, match its columns to our fields, look at every row before it is kept, and keep the ones you tick.

Move from another tool

Bring everything across from Senja or Testimonial.to with your own API key from that tool. The key is used for one reading and then wiped.

Testimonial analytics

The Analytics tab shows form views, starts and submissions, request results, and widget and wall views and clicks, with the definition of every metric.

Brand kit

Set the colors, fonts, corner radius, rating shape, logo, badge and custom CSS of a site's testimonials once. Every form, widget and wall follows.

Languages and translation

Choose the languages a site collects and shows testimonials in, and on Business translate the testimonials themselves and edit each translation.

Custom domain for walls and forms

Ask for your own address for a Wall of Love or your testimonial forms. Custom domains are set up by our team, by hand, and are part of Business.

Limits and plans

What each plan includes for testimonials, what counts toward the monthly number, what never counts, and what happens to one that arrives at the limit.
