Import Universal Analytics history

Universal Analytics stopped processing data in 2023 and its interface is gone. If you exported reports as CSV before then, the UA template imports them as daily aggregates.

Steps

    Create a free account and add your site

    Sign up and add the domain. The Free plan needs no card.

  2. 2

    Add the Privatus snippet next to your current tool

    Run both for two to four weeks so you can compare numbers and check goals before switching.

  3. 3

    Recreate goals and funnels

    Goals apply retroactively in Privatus, so goals you define now also cover the data collected since you installed the snippet.

    Find your exports

    Use CSV exports of daily reports (pages, sources, locations, devices) that include a date column.

    Upload with the UA template

    In Site settings, Imports, choose CSV import and the Universal Analytics template.

  6. 6

    Validate and start

    The import shows its status and the rows written when it finishes. Imports can be deleted and re-run.
