Subscription metrics
MRR, churn and cohorts, next to the traffic that earns them
Connect the payment provider your site bills through and get recurring revenue on its own page. MRR, ARR, MRR movements, churn, revenue retention, MRR by plan, a forecast and a churn cohort grid. It is included on every plan.
No card required. Set up in 60 seconds.
Five providers
Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Chargebee and Polar. Connect more than one and their numbers are added together.
A read-only key
Paste an API key that can only read subscriptions. For Stripe that is a restricted key, and a full secret key is refused.
No customer data
We store no customer names, emails, IDs, addresses or countries, and nothing links a subscription to a visitor.
Churn cohorts
Subscriptions grouped by the month of their first payment, over 6, 12 or 24 months.
The numbers on the page
MRR is the monthly value of every subscription that has paid and has not ended. Yearly, weekly and multi-month prices are converted to a month. Amounts in other currencies are converted to your site's currency at the latest European Central Bank rate.
- MRR, ARR, active subscriptions and the average per subscription
- Churn and MRR churn for the last 30 days
- Active trials, and the share of trials that went on to pay
- MRR and active subscriptions month by month, with the new and the ended
Where MRR came from, and where it went
Each month's MRR is split into new subscriptions, upgrades, downgrades and cancellations, so you see why it moved and not only that it did. Upgrades and downgrades are counted from the day you connect.
- New, expansion, contraction and churned MRR, and net new MRR
- Quick ratio, the MRR gained for each unit lost
- Net and gross revenue retention over 12 months
- MRR by plan, and the whole page for one plan
- A 12-month forecast from the last three full months
A cohort grid that shows when subscriptions leave
Each row is the subscriptions that first paid in one month, and each cell is a month since. Read across a row to see how fast a cohort leaves, and down a column to compare cohorts at the same age.
- Churn, the share of a cohort that has ended
- Retention, the share still running
- MRR, so losing a large plan weighs more than a small one
What we store, and what we don't
For each subscription we keep the provider's subscription ID, its status, its dates, the name of its plan, its monthly amount and currency, and its earlier amounts when the price changes. Your API key is stored encrypted, is only used to read subscriptions and is never shown again. Disconnecting deletes the key and every subscription row read with it. Setup for each provider is in the subscription metrics docs.

Questions and answers
Which plans include subscription metrics?
Every plan, including Free.
How often are the numbers updated?
Subscriptions are read again every 6 hours, and Sync now reads them straight away.
Can I see which visitor or campaign a subscription came from?
No, by design. Nothing links a subscription to a visitor. You get recurring revenue as aggregates, next to your traffic.
Is MRR net of discounts?
For Stripe, Chargebee and Polar, MRR is net of recurring discounts. For Paddle and Lemon Squeezy it uses the list price.
